The brie will melt within the phyllo dough crust, combining with the filling you choose. Serve this heavenly spread with crackers or crusty bread.

Ingredients
1 small wheel of brie cheese
4 sheets of phyllo dough (grocer's freezer)
1 egg, beaten
1 tbl melted butter
Sundried tomatoes (packed in oil), chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Vegetable cooking oil spray
Crackers or french baguette

Equipment You'll Need
Cookie Sheet or Ovenproof Dish
Basting Brush

Directions
Prepare your pan by spraying it with a light coating of cooking spray. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Place 4 sheets of phyllo dough in the middle of the pan. Place the brie in the middle of the pastry and top with sundried tomatoes and garlic. Brush pastry layers with melted butter using the basting brush.

Place the sundried tomatoes and crushed garlic cloves on top of the brie and gather the phyllo dough up, like you are wrapping a present. Brush the outside of the phyllo dough with the egg. This will make the outside crispy. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Try it another way!
For a sweet appetizer, fill the phyllo dough with preserves or jam. Drop several tablespoons on top of the brie before you close up the phyllo dough. You can even add fresh fruit like raspberries or apples. Garnish with fresh berries.

If you don't have phyllo dough, you can also use a container of refrigerated crescent rolls, pressing the perforated rolls into one sheet of dough. You may need to adjust the cooking time slightly to ensure the dough cooks all the way through.
