Side Dish Recipes - Grilled Asparagus

Perfect compliment to grilled steaks or portabello mushrooms. Delicately earthy taste that's enhanced with a dash of balsamic vinegar.

Ingredients
1 bunch of asparagus
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste

Non-Reactive Pan or Serving Platter
Grill
Tongs


Directions
Preheat your grill to medium high heat. Trim a 1/4 inch off the ends of the asparagus stalks (where they've been cut from the plant). Place in a non-reactive pan or platter and drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar of the the top. Toss with your hands to coat.

Place the asparagus stalks on the hot grill, laying across the grill grates so they will not fall through.

Grill for 10 minutes, turning several times. Once stalks appear slightly limp, remove them for the grill. Salt and pepper to taste and serve.
